How to Gain Personal Clarity
Laura discusses ways you can grow in your personal clarity to benefit your entire team.
Video Transcript: Here's what I want us to think about. I want you to get clarity. I want you to, on your own, away from other people, choose to get clarity on what you need to grow on. There's lots of ideas out there; I'll give you a few. You can do a personality assessment that can tell you, here's where your personality is; here's where you're strong. Here's some things need to work on. You can do a Strengths Assessment - same thing; it can tell you, here's where you're strong. Here's where you should put your energy. Here's what you should avoid. Do some 360, informal, anonymous 360 reviews, and let people weigh in. Why anonymously? Because people will be freer. And depending on your trust relationship with them, it just makes it easier; you'll get better feedback that you'll know how to do. There's lots of ways to do informal ones. You could get a list of words, maybe 2025 words, that describe the leaders. Ask people to maybe pick out five, or you're strong in five, or you can grow. That's one way to simply do an informal 360. You can also do the formal ones. But I want you to do things like read leadership books, go to leadership conferences, watch YouTubes of past leadership conferences. I want you to start to learn what are the things you could work on. Once you've done that now you're set up to solicit feedback.
